I'm absolutely shocked at the beautiful results on my skin after just one treatment!! My skin has not looked this good in months. Kyong significantly reduced my acne and skin texture on my forehead after my first customized facial containing microdermabrasion, hydrafacial, and LED lights. She will look at your skin with a very bright light to determine what you have going on and how to address it. She is an expert and I will definitely be going back for another facial.

I have been getting facials every 2-3 weeks for the last 10 years and Kyong is by far the best facialist and skincare expert in Hawaii! Her techniques are soothing, gentle and most importantly, extremely effective. I've been needing to write a review for Kyong. She's absolutely wonderful. I used to go see her a monthly basis. She takes her time and such good care of you. She's a very knowledgeable aesthetician. If you're having skin trouble go see her! Some people might think Facials are expensive but think about it as a routine, professional cleaning for your skin, just like most people go and get their teeth cleaned at the dentist twice a year. I'm 28 years old, I've been working in the beauty industry since I was 20, and I wish I met Kyoung sooner. As a younger person you don't think about skincare or even the importance of sun screen. My wife and I are tourists and came in to buy a product from Skin Ceuticals as it was an easy walk from Ala Moana shopping center. Although neither of us received treatment, we did get to spend some time with the owner and the wisdom she imparted was well worth the visit! I was very lucky to get the same day hydra facial appointment before going to a friend's wedding the next day. She's very knowledgeable and patient to understand my needs and very thorough in cleaning my face for hidden pores/clogging issues. I've seen Kyong twice so far and absolutely love my results! For the past two years I been dealing with random breakouts and tried numerous products. My first treatment involved hydra facial with some microdermabrasion and LED light. In combination with the products she recommended I have noticed less clogged pores and lightening on my acne scars.

Received a microdermabrasion from kyong, along with a hydra facial, and Led light. I can honestly say after she was done my face was refreshed and unplugged from back clogging.I'm very happy I found kyong and definitely stoked that her prices are reasonable for her treatments. Her products can be expensive and while I only had a plan of paying for my treatment she did insist on me purchasing the products to help with my acne discoloration. I don't ever buy products unless I do research so she did explain a lot about what each serum does etc. she also included a brochure to explain more with samples of products I didn't buy. I will definitely be religious about using these because it was expensive but I want to know if it'll actually help my skin, so keep a eye out for my update review in the future! Miss Kyong is doing a great job taking care of my skin.i am very particular when it comes to my skin, i have sensitive skin and big pores. I always go to her for the package of microdermabrasion, led light and HYDRAfacial! The cost is worth it and not expensive. Miss kyong is very knowledgeable when it comes to different skin types, she knows what you need. And she is very nice she gives you tea, water.. and of course a complimentary head, and arm massage.. and take note she has a very soft hands.. and very gentle..

Ms. Kyong is gorgeous and if her skin is any indication of the quality of products and services she provides, I'd get a treatment every week if I lived in the area. I received the microdermabrasion, LED light, and hydra facial as well as microdermabrasion on my back and collagen mask. All were very gentle and left my pores looking non-existent and the texture was incredible. Reading the other reviews, it sounds like this combination is highly recommended for all people, which I wish was a bit more personalized. I get frequent facials and prefer a bit more exfoliating, such as glycolic, however this treatment was quite gentle and didn't leave me red for my meetings during the week. The products she carries are top notch and have the price tag to match, but the salon is beautiful and clean and she clearly knows what she is doing. Valmont products are amazing and I wish I could buy the entire line but they could make a girl go broke. I did have a bit of a break-out on my forehead and jaw line after the treatment but that may have been from just flying internationally or a product sample that didn't agree with me, two weeks later and the texture of my skin is still incredibly soft. I wish I could put Kyong in my pocket and just have her on call for all of my skin needs no matter where in the world I may be. Hope I can make a trip back soon! Oh she also emailed frequently to see how I was doing and how I liked the products, this personal touch is very appreciated by me and something that would make me a regular in a heartbeat.

I've struggled with acne and acne scars for as long as I can remember and now I can honestly say my skin has never looked better! I just moved here from California, where there's tons of different options when it comes to facials and skin treatments. I was searching for a new place to take care of all my skin needs, and I no longer need to look any further. Kyong is amazing and extremely knowledgeable!

She was so helpful in getting me in as soon as possible, and even opened a little early to accommodate me on the day that worked best.

Since moving, my skin had been freaking out. I've never had issues with acne, but all of a sudden I started getting red bumps that itched all over my face. Kyong assured me it was due to the weather and she worked her skin-god magic and transformed my skin after just one visit.

I originally scheduled a microdermabrasion facial, but after I got there and speaking with her she also suggested I get a hydra facial and a LED light treatment. Excellent, she knows her products. The skin care here is very good, decent microbrasion and an aqua brasion I had not had before. This is esthnetician level which is great but your not going to find ReFirm or Broad Band Light here. I find that Hawaii is very behind when it comes to some of the more modern therapies. My mainland skin people say that many of the more new advanced therapies only do very fair skin and that probably is not worth the investment here. Kyong is great to keep me cleaned up but I will be needing a trip to the East Coast for BBL.

Relaxation and rejuvenation

The first step I walking into her place, I already feel like the relaxation and rejuvenation has start it. Her place is really nice and clean, everything was organized, the combination treatment that I received is about an hour, and I always fall in to sleep, because it feels like a face massage feels relaxing.

The TREATMENT ( Microdermabrasion, hydra facial, acne facial, LED, and some kind of Clay Mask) That will help you clear out all the dead skin, improving scars and pigmentation, also moisture and smooth out your skin , my skin now feels really smooth, and clean, most the acnes are gone also the scars.

The PRICE of the treatment are very reasonable, and compares to other place, I would say this place has the cheapest price but best result, I guarantee everyone that comes to this place won't regret because It REALLY WORKS.

The Products works pretty well too, some of the products are a little be expensive, but it work well, and worth the money ( I mean I would rather buy something 100 dollar that's going work then something that cost 40 dollar that won't work lol)

One sad thing is that, her places is always so busy, sometime I couldn't get a spot for a long time, so it's better to let her know 1-2weeks before.

I have been a regular client of M.K. Skin Renew for at least three years now, since the start of the business. My favorite treatment is the simple but thorough European facial. It begins with a light steaming of the face, which really opens up my pores and makes the facial feel more effective. The treatment lasts at least an hour, and I almost always doze off while the clay mask is gently brushed onto my face. If there is ever a portion of a treatment that you would rather skip or spend more time on, Kyong will accommodate.

Kyong pays a lot of attention to detail. I always leave her spa feeling like I was given a little something extra, whether it's an extra few minutes of a face massage or a new product sample to try.

I believe very much in supporting small local businesses, and the fact that Kyong does such great work makes it hard to see anybody else!

I have been getting facials done by Kyong for the past 7 weeks and would suggest it to anyone suffering from acne or any other derm issues. She's simply the best. She really listens to your needs and takes the time to assess what your skin specifically needs. She never rushes the treatment and spends as much time on the facial as my skin needs. I have been getting the hydrafacial + microdermabrasion and love it. But what I love the most are the extractions! When I first started I had the worst cystic acne I've had in my life (see pictures). Over the last 7 weeks we have worked out many of the reoccurring acne areas and, FINALLY, my face is starting to feel smooth again. I spent months and hundreds of dollars on the dermatologist. I was prescribed antibiotics and over 5 different creams that never worked. I wish I would have just gone to Kyong and skipped the dermatologist. In addition to being effective, the facial itself just feels amazing. I love the massage and fall asleep every single time even though I try my hardest to stay awake! Kyong is so wonderful!! This is one of the best facials I've ever had, if not THE best. She is very informative and has answers to all your skincare questions. When I first came in I was able to take my shoes off and discuss with her my issues and she gave me her best advice.
I received the hydrafacial, microdermabrasion and LED treatment. This seems to be the most popular treatment, and I felt so much better afterwards. I have had congested skin with uneven texture and Kyong helped resolve my issues in this first session. I left alreading noticing a difference, my face was smooth and fresh. Although, I don't recommend stopping at just one session...for best results you should be frequent with your facials and Kyong is the best person in Hawaii to go to! I highly recommend getting the hydrafacial and microdermabrasion! Kyong also includes a mini arm and head massage, which feels so great I wanted to fall asleep! The pricing is also VERY reasonable! I was looking for help with a acne breakout and hoped to get one of the facials on the menu for $100 or less, like the custom facial or acne facial. Kyong recommended a combination of several other services, so I spent closer to $200. It is worth it if you can afford it. My skin felt and looked smoother, my breakouts calmed down, and she sent me off with 2 small skincare samples for maintenance. If my budget allows, I will come back in the future.

we've been stationed in Hawaii already for a year, and it was a real struggle for me to find a good facial place I can trust. I have adult acne skin, which needs to be treated right. Today was my first appointment with Kyong.  It was nice that she analyzed and talked about my skin and what services I need to get my skin to be where it need to be.  I had the Microdermabrasion +Hydrafacial+LED Light. It was fantastic!  This by far has been the best facial I have ever had. Kyong took her time and was through of explaining each procedure.  I liked how my skin felt and looked after the facial. Although it is pricy, I will be seeing Kyong again.

Words can't even describe how much I enjoyed my facial today. My mom and I got facials here and we loved it! We are from out of town and didn't want to go to any of the over priced for value type of spas in the hotels. (Facials over $250 what?) So I did some looking at this place and it had awesome reviews! Upon coming here, I can see why. The lady was so friendly and was able to adjust the program to fit what my skin needed. It was one of my best experiences with a facial ever. My skin was so soft after and I loved the arm and hand massage. I left there with a clean face and relaxed. Next time I visit Hawaii is am coming straight here from the airport. Where should I begin?

Once you step into her suite, you're immediately swept away to an oasis, a little piece of heaven if you will, of relaxation and rejuvenation. Be prepared to leave with a smoother, more youthful face that is nothing even reminiscent of other spa facials out there (on oahu at least).

Kyong is sweet, very knowledgeable in her craft of skincare, and personable. She always has the customer in mind! When I came in with inflamed, bumpy, and angry skin, she didn't cringe or laugh. Instead, she suggested a facial and some skincare lines that would help me--and boy! It definitely changed my skin for the better. With very distressed skin, she suggested that I come every other week. Since time didn't permit me to do so, I would come in once a month, making sure I kept up in between facials with the Skinceuticals line that I purchased (with a daytime moisturizer/sunscreen that Kyong threw in for free).

Her location is quite convenient, near Ala Moana, but still far from the hustle and bustle of the mall (Taste Tea across the street doesn't hurt either :9).

Yes, it is costly to maintain a bi-weekly or monthly regiment for skincare, but us women deserve a little getaway once in a while. I feel young skin is difficult to achieve if you're depending on mother nature to help you, so this is what Kyong is for. She'll have you feeling fresh with supple skin and noticeably smaller pores (I've never seen these results with any other treatments or products ever). Be prepared to be pampered as she dedicates at least 1.5-2 hours per customer (I usually take a cat nap when I'm under the LED light). She also carries various skincare lines that suit any skin type. The Tata Harper undereye cream is superb for wrinkles and dark circles!

Kyong who is a licensed aesthetician / owner is the most gentle, caring person.  I'm late 30's, suffered from horrible breakouts by using major brand cosmetics and needed some facial treatments.  I initially bought a groupon to see if hydrofacial treatment will help my condition.  Kyong did microdermabrasion, hydrofacial, and LED treatment all together and my face started to clear up immediately.  She also recommended using blemish/anti aging serum which is such a great product!  My blemishes are almost all gone (only after 2 treatments with Kyong) and my skin is so soft and clear again, I barely need to put any foundation!  Her prices are so much better than going to high priced spa locations.  You get intimate, individual attention from Kyong for a reasonable price and you walk out with a glowing skin!  What more can you ask for?

My daughter and I have been seeing Kyong for several months.  We get the hydrofacial/microdermabrasion/light therapy treatment which lasts 90 minutes. The results have been nothing short of miraculous!  We both had very congested skin and frequent severe breakouts - now it's all in the past :D  Not only is Kyong's expertise, attention to detail,  and professionalism obvious, but the ambiance is peaceful and rejuvenating.  Her kind and generous demeanor sets her above the rest in the industry.  Try the many services and products Kyong offers...you won't be disappointed!  She has literally changed our lives!  Seriously!

My experience here was amazing.

I purchased the $65 groupon for a hydrafacial, as I wanted to pamper myself before the stressful school semester begins.  I ended up regretting not purchasing the $99 groupon for the hydrafacial, peel/microdermabrasion, and LED Blue Light Therapy, so she let me upgrade at my appointment.  The extra $34 was very worth it.  All three of these services together would normally cost $200+.

I highly, highly recommend the hydrafacial.  You can get microdermabrasion and peels from pretty much any esthetician, but the hydrafacial and blue light therapy are done with very expensive equipment, so not many estheticians offer this service.  The blue light therapy is great for killing acne bacteria.  I noticed immediately after that my skin was so much smoother, and she really extracted out all of the bumps and pimples that were on my cheeks.  The extractions that took place with the blue light therapy were really painful, I won't lie, but so worth it.  My skin feels so smooth now.  No bumps.

Her shop is really high end.  It is located on Kapiolani BLVD., between Keeamoku and Piikoi.  It is directly across the street from Secured Gold Buyers.  If you're going towards downtown, it will be on the right side of Kapiolani.  If you're heading towards Waikiki, it will be on the left side of Kapiolani.  

There is limited free parking available.  I have been to two other estheticians, and her office is definitely the nicest.  Her set up is extremely clean and everything is well-decorated and high-end.  I also really love the steam machine she uses that sprays a small amount of steam on your face during some parts of the facial.

My only sadness is that the regular prices are pretty expensive.  She offered me a pretty substantial discount since I'm a student for return visits, but I doubt I will be able to come in on a monthly basis as recommended.  I was really lucky that the person after me canceled her appointment, so I wasn't rushed at all during my appointment.

I would highly recommend Kyong!  I wish I could come here every month if I could.  I definitely hope she makes another groupon.  She also gives a really amazing face and scalp massage.  It's truly the most amazing pampering experience.

This is the place to visit if you're looking for a great facial!  I've been to many places for facials, but Kyong is one of my favorite so far!  

I first visited her location to use my groupon for the hydrafacial (Reg. $130).  She explained that it would be very beneficial for me to get the microdermabrasion before the hydrafacial so I upgraded for $10 (this was a special price when using the Groupon... not sure how much it is regular).  It was well worth it!!  

The mircrodermabrasion helped smoothen my skin by getting rid of all the dead skin since my skin was very dry   She then performed the hydrafacial, and the gel was able to be absorbed much better.  Kyong was very informative and I never felt like she was just trying to upsell me.

I returned for a follow up appointment 2 weeks later and was again VERY pleased witht the service and results.  I wish that I could afford seeing her every month... Hopefully I will schedule to go back to see her soon!

Also, I really appreciate her customer service.  Scheduling the appointment was very easy and she was so friendly on the phone!  The day of my appt, she was running a little late with a client and left me a VM on my cell phone.  I really appreciate getting a heads up!

I used my Tipper voucher today and received a Hydrafacial, Microdermabrasian and LED light treatment all for $70. With a price that good I was skeptical and thought it might turn out to be some dive with non-english speaking estheticians. I was wrong. The place was serene and service from beginning to end was top notch! She even throws in the extra service; hand, arm, scalp massage... Zzzzz Loved every second of the over 1 1/2 hour session. I had the most relaxing 2 hours in months on Friday when I went to M.K. Skin Renew for a hydra facial. But the best part was when I looked in the mirror after the treatment. I looked as if I had been on a spa vacation for two weeks!  My skin was smooth and glowed! I had dry built up skin on my nose and forehead and it was gone. The treatment was gentle and time flew by. I was on a massage bed, covered in a light blanket, soft music, low lighting and professional hands made this experience such a blessing. Kyong was awesome! She knows how to take care of your skin. I went in for a Microdermabrasion and was not disappointed. Found this place from a friend. Now im helping her get a social media presence. Go in and tell her Ryan send ya!

I was not surprised when I walked in my second time to Kyong's place and immediately felt happy and pampered! She greeted me with a smile and a hug! I did the Hydra-facial again and my skin feels great. She again was so sweet and took time to really do wonders for my skin. She is not one of those people who full on sets a timer and when it goes off says ok done and sends you off in a hurry. She really takes the time needed to work on your skin and do her magic! She is so accommodating and I cannot wait to go in yet again next week for another treatment (yes my skin needs it!). I am so glad I met Kyong. She is so understanding of my financial situation and is more than happy to offer me help price-wise. I cannot express my gratitude to Kyong! I know that if you go in and are just as sweet to her as I'm sure she will be to you, you will make another great friend in Kyong. She is one of the sweetest ladies I have met. Even in Hawaii, it's not always easy to meet someone as great as her! Her services are amazing and her personality is even more so. I do not regret anything in going to her or even a penny I have spent there. More than worth it. Go!

I've been going to Kyong for years - in between - i'll often try online deals for other cheaper  facialists or spas but I keep coming back to her. Ya know what they say "Ya get what ya Pay" and that's pretty true in this case. She takes the time to really treat and pamper me not only with a fantastic facial and includes a relaxing neck, shoulder, arm and foot massage and I leave feeling like a million bucks every time. I'm never rushed and when I'm there, it's very calming and relaxing - no annoying exterior noises or chatty clients in the reception area like other salons I've experienced. She is just a wonderful person and friend. Love her regular facials but lately, I've been getting the hydrafacial and LED and micro treatments.

Haven't been back to Kyong in a while - mainly because she is sorta expensive, and often pushes product which makes me uncomfortable but I end up buying it and then have "buyer's remorse" when I get my credit card bill. But if I could afford regular visits, I would totally come back more often.

Went in yesterday 12/6 to do a hydrafacial with the groupon upgraded to the led light and microdermabrasion. Always happy to see Kyong and get pampered. Came out feeling wonderful and relaxed. Don't go anywhere else. Thank you Kyong and god bless.

My experience here was amazing.

I purchased the $65 groupon for a hydrafacial, as I wanted to pamper myself before the stressful school semester begins.  I ended up regretting not purchasing the $99 groupon for the hydrafacial, peel/microdermabrasion, and LED Blue Light Therapy, so she let me upgrade at my appointment.  The extra $34 was very worth it.  All three of these services together would normally cost $200+.

I highly, highly recommend the hydrafacial.  You can get microdermabrasion and peels from pretty much any esthetician, but the hydrafacial and blue light therapy are done with very expensive equipment, so not many estheticians offer this service.  The blue light therapy is great for killing acne bacteria.  I noticed immediately after that my skin was so much smoother, and she really extracted out all of the bumps and pimples that were on my cheeks.  The extractions that took place with the blue light therapy were really painful, I won't lie, but so worth it.  My skin feels so smooth now.  No bumps.

Her shop is really high end.  It is located on Kapiolani BLVD., between Keeamoku and Piikoi.  It is directly across the street from Secured Gold Buyers.  If you're going towards downtown, it will be on the right side of Kapiolani.  If you're heading towards Waikiki, it will be on the left side of Kapiolani.  

There is limited free parking available.  I have been to two other estheticians, and her office is definitely the nicest.  Her set up is extremely clean and everything is well-decorated and high-end.  I also really love the steam machine she uses that sprays a small amount of steam on your face during some parts of the facial.

My only sadness is that the regular prices are pretty expensive.  She offered me a pretty substantial discount since I'm a student for return visits, but I doubt I will be able to come in on a monthly basis as recommended.  I was really lucky that the person after me canceled her appointment, so I wasn't rushed at all during my appointment.

I would highly recommend Kyong!  I wish I could come here every month if I could.  I definitely hope she makes another groupon.  She also gives a really amazing face and scalp massage.

Why go anywhere else?....

The independent owner is nice, patient, caring, thorough and more than capable in her field. Granted, I've been here twice (and am currently sitting in the waiting room while my mom gets her first treatment with her) and have only received the hydrafacial which - for her regular customers (you're considered a regular after your first visit!) includes microdermabrasion and LED treatment. She also looks at your skin's condition that day to determine what mixture of treatments she is going to use on your skin. Her cost is normally $200 but, as a repeat customer, will include those extra services at no extra cost. She also gives a discount if you refer people to her. I first went to her with a coupon from one of those deal sites ($70 for u $200 service) and it was a bargain... she takes the time especially for those of us who haven't received facials regularly (i.e. years...) and her hour-long treatments often extend to 1 1/2-2 hours!

Parking is free, but if there is none then there is street parking on the back side for a quarter every 20 minutes. There's also Ala Moana parking as well as Walmart parking if you really wanna be cheap about it lol.

The waiting room is very comfortable with house slippers, magazines, chocolates and a coffee maker. It's all the perks without the overhead costs! No more feeling bad for the poor aesthetician who only receives about half of the cost of a facial at corporate business, as she is an independent business woman whose hours are flexible up to seven days a week and as long as twelve hour days based on YOUR schedule.

....so that was back in March when I first started going to her. It is now November, and this is what I think:

Don't feel bad and buy whatever products she has... She's so nice, though, that it's easy to get suckered into it!! (I have a few times lol) And there is no real need to see her once a week or even once a month if your skin doesn't need it. Depending on your liking, concerns, budget, you should probably see her once every 4-8 weeks. I've been going to her for almost a year now and I am finally standing my ground and stretching the time between visits (again, a sucker because she is just such a nice lady). I mean, it just isn't that good for your skin to endure that much synthetic work! That said, I have my next appointment with her next week.  ^_^
